Champ's Rollerdrome Louisville

Posting 2/17/2023 2:41p.m. I attempted to take my 9 year old daughter to this place. They have a metal detector inside for safety. This was fine with me, until I tried to go through it... The first time a beep, I'm asked to remove my belt. Go through again, beep. I'm asked to remove my coat and boots. By now I'm getting frustrated, but that's not the end. I walk through again and beep. Now I'm being ask by a 17 year old kid to remove more articles of clothing and that's the only way I can come in. I then said no and asked for a manager. Her response was shocking, she states plainly that this is policy. I reply with, it's your policy to have people strip in front of family and children. I was then asked not so nicely to leave. I note that 1 other patron saw and heard this and expressed dissatisfaction over it as well. My question now is, how many other people/children have been asked to remove there clothing? This felt more like a TSA strip down then a family friendly environment. I will never return and I will never recommend this place to good people. You'll be asked to do uncomfortable things.

Haven't been here since covid and WOW!!! Champs has updated and is AWESOME once more. New lighting, sound equipment and everything from carpet to paint looks fresh. The food kiosk area is clean and bright, comfort food and drinks are reasonably priced, music is awesome, video games and novelty toys are fully stocked and the staff are super helpful and friendly! Even better is they have updated all their skates. If you haven't been for a while and want to host a great event for school, business or church etc...Give them a call! Well worth the visit and a great cheap alternative for kids (and adult) parties!

This rink looks upgraded or new! The kids loved the lights, arcade games, and DJ. The music was great. This was my favorite rink in Louisville, KY. The only thing this rink needs is an Adult night. My husband and I are from Louisiana and trying to keep skating alive! We bring our own Harlick Roller Skates made in California, USA. For the past 10+ years we have made it our goal to skate in each state! We love to JAM, slow walk, and couple dance skate on Adult Skate Night. Also, I enjoy a shiny smooth hard wood floor to dance on. Always on any adult night skating in the USA check their website. Many roller rinks allow skaters to buy tickets or sign a risk waiver to skate before arrival. First, I have to say I skated on teen night. The line was very long to enter the building. It was cold which made the wait time undesirable. After paying to skate, I was checked for any knives or guns. The metal detectors made me feel a bit safer. The security team was kind but no nonsense. This place is huge. The positive energy at this rink was exquisite. I encourage you to look at my photos.

They only rent skates in men's sizes & no half sizes. Skates were either too big or too small & poor fitting. There were plenty of lockers, however nobody used them. All of the tables and sitting areas were mostly empty of people but people "saved" these areas by storing their shoes and jackets there. We were unable to sit and rest & left after 1 hour. Had to sit on the floor to change in & out of skates. Might as well take out the lockers and add more seating.

This place is way too expensive like for example the chicken nuggets and fries were disgusting and way overpriced for something you can make better from home. They also straight up took my sister off the rink with the trainer my little sister let her borrow which we paid out because she deemed a little too old for the trainer, so it seems unless you're a little kid apparently everyone must know how to skate right away. The experience overall was way below of what I was expecting and I don't tend on returning with my family or friends. I did enjoy the vibe and the safety provided by the metal detectors but that's pretty much it.

This is the worst experience on customer service. The lady with bland hair has no respect to their customers. She is being treated as because that metal detector at the entryway was beeping all the time when I go through even when I take everything including belt. I told her that I have metal on my leg du to accident in army but she won’t listen and act with no respect to their customers. Then please put the sign no Army people with metal in their body’s so we know who you are. Even when I try to tell her that I like her any way she said I don’t . She wants to call police on me??? and I was there with my 3 kids and wife and everything was happening right front of them. Thank you for that experience. I will definitely be away from this place and my kids as well.

Not very clean, torn benches, sticky tables, broken games, smells like feet and BO. Bags are checked at the door by hand and don't go through the metal detector. They are not looking for weapons though. They are looking for food, drinks, or birthday gifts. If you have a diabetic kid, you're out of luck, they won't allow small snacks for that. You can't celebrate a birthday unless you use their party room, which is always booked. I was told no cake, no presents in the regular consession area, but another family had a whole decorated party with balloons going everywhere. Take a guess why one family was allowed to set up a party in a non-party area but my family was not. 😒

If you are a experienced skater. DO NOT EVER GO THERE unless you are trying to work on your dodging skills and patience! This rink has absolute no control over the children and its like a jungle gym. Kids are everywhere Standing in the middle of the rink. Trainers flying across the floors and every 6inches in front of you theres a child thats laying on the ground. The staff needs more control and set rules. Until then i will never go back to that place!
